DESCRIPTION:  \nOur monthly webinar series “Innovation Insights” continued Monday\, December 18\, as IACMI EVP/CCO Dale Brosius\, moderated discussions on recent technology advancements. IACMI members and partners presented background on new technology\, products\, and the key advantages provided\, as well as application examples. \nWatch the Recording \nWe heard from: \nDavid Morgan\nChief Strategy Officer\nCarbon Rivers \nRecycling the Impossible: Glass Fiber Composites for Perpetual Life Cycles \nCarbon Rivers G2G received an initial SBIR for glass fiber recovery proof of concept. The project was quite successful\, and the WETO office awarded Carbon Rivers a phase III commercial. Since then\, Carbon Rivers is in production part approval process (PPAP) with a dozen different marine\, automotive\, and building material OEMs for validating the recovered glass fiber\, intermediates\, and renewable oil into next life cycle manufacturing. \nRyan Kruger\nScientist\nR&D\, Durable Goods\nBostik \nOverview of Bostik SMP Sealants & Adhesives for Transportation  \nBostik has a range of Silane Modified Polymer (SMP) adhesives & sealants used for the transportation industry. We will do an overview of the chemistry\, properties\, and some applications of this product line. \nDon Wood\nSenior Product Development Engineer\nLyondellBasell \nSustainable Composites Platform from LyondellBasell \nLyondellBasell (LYB) has made a public commitment to implementing ‘Sustainable Solutions for Everyday Living’ and has launched numerous products under the Circulen brand. The Engineered Composites division at LYB is actively developing composite materials that incorporate sustainable raw materials such as plant-based and recycled fillers\, sustainable resins\, and recycled glass fibers. The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado Headlamp support bracket uses LyondellBasell sustainable BMC incorporating recycled filler and shrink control additive.  In a joint submission with Valeo\, GM and LyondellBasell\, this product made it to the finals of the 2023 SPE Innovation Awards in the Environmental / Sustainability Category. \n
