DESCRIPTION:Our monthly webinar series “Innovation Insights” continued\, as IACMI Chief Commercialization Officer Dale Brosius moderated discussions on recent technology advancements that industry may not be fully aware of. \n  \nOn Monday\, February 14 at 12PM ET a one-hour series of presentations was held from IACMI members and partners\, where they provided background on new technology\, products\, and the key advantages provided\, as well as application examples. \n  \nThe presenters were: \n\nLaurie Calligaris\, President\, Toray Performance Materials Corporation (PMC)\n\nThe Material Edge – Introduction to Toray PMC CRFT Materials\n\nToray PMC is a leading supplier for high-performance CFRT® composite materials to a range of industries including sporting goods\, consumer electronics\, and automotive industries. Our strengths lie in developing new\, custom\, and niche applications in close partnership with our customers. This presentation will cover an introduction to Toray PMC and give an insight in to some of our industry focus areas that leverage as well as go beyond our backward integration into Toray.\n\n\n\n\nWolfgang Hinz\, Head of Expert Sales Composites and Surfaces\, Krauss-Maffei\n\nTwo economical composite technologies for low and high production volumes\n\nLFI = Long Fiber Injection – A competitive solution for SMC applications\, with future developments in carbon fiber being explored.\nFiberForm – Thermoplastic/Thermoset lightweight parts for high volume applications with the possibility for CCM and various surface molding.\n\n\n\n\nPeter Hedger Jr.\, VP of Business Development\, Composite Applications Group\n\nCommercializing Composites in Unexploited Markets\n\nComposite Applications Group has had tremendous success is helping OEMs new to composites realize and benefit from innovative lightweight solutions to gain competitive advantage. Large scale examples in the rail\, transport and infrastructure market demonstrate how a compelling value proposition brings new life to old applications. Composite Applications Group has proven time and again that the path to success in composite technology adoption is attainable with the right collaborations and supply chain partners.
