DESCRIPTION:IACMI will be participating in a number of activities as part of the month-long celebration\, including a ribbon cutting at the joint IACMI/LIFT facility in Detroit\, MI.  Learn more about Manufacturing Day and stay tuned for more info.  \nIACMI/LIFT Lightweighting Facility Ribbon Cutting and Open House\nPlease join us on Manufacturing Day 2017\, Friday\, October 6\, as LIFT – Lightweight Innovations For Tomorrow and IACMI – The Composites Institute unveil our state-of-the-art Lightweighting research and development laboratory in Detroit’s historic Corktown neighborhood.\nThe institutes will cut the ribbon on their joint facility in celebration of manufacturing and the one-year anniversary of announcing their commitment to bring this facility to Detroit. This $50 million facility brings together two Manufacturing USA institutes focusing on cutting-edge lightweighting applied research and development in metals and composite materials. This facility brings together advanced manufacturing experts from around the country to conduct innovative research and advanced lightweight manufacturing right here in Detroit.\nThe celebration will mark the innovation hub as officially open– exactly one year after the institutes announced a $50 million investment into the facility.
