The Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Summit hosted last month by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers was a one-day forum focused on current and upcoming research and workforce development partnership opportunities that are being offered through the National Network of Manufacturing Innovation (NNMI) Institutes. The seven invited NNMI Institutes include America Makes, AIM Photonics, DMDII, LIFT, IACMI, NEXTFLEX, and Power America.

Panels and facilitated discussions provided a networking opportunity designed to encourage communication between institute leaders and Summit participants. Along with other NNMI Institute Senior Executives, IACMI CEO, Craig Blue discussed IACMI’s overall mission, technologies, memberships, and operations, as well as upcoming projects and current proposals. Small and medium sized companies in attendance showed interest in learning more about government and private sector funding opportunities.
